One
example of our research efforts was the
independent development of a 100cc motorcycle
in 1992. After 3 years of work, the Altino-powered
motorcycle rolled off the assembly line
and was immediately recognized as technically
superior to other domestic brands. We are
currently using the same whole-hearted dedication
to detail in the development of a full range
of models.
In 1997, Daelim Motor developed and began
marketing the high performance 125cc scooter
“Trans Up(NS125)”. This model
is equipped with a 4-stroke, 4-valve engine
with the best power and acceleration in
its class. The “Trans Up” continues
to reliably and faithfully serve domestic
and international riders.
The 100cc scooter “Delfino”
was introduced in 1998. This stylish model
gave customers the highest performance parameters
of any scooter in its class. Daelim also
came out with the “Daystar”
in 1998. This 125cc American Custom model
features classic styling and solid performance.
In 2001, we newly developed the 125cc scooter
“ History(Forte)” and the 50cc
scooter “ Major(S-five)” having
the more qualified and modern specifications
to meet closely our domestic and overseas
customers’ needs.
And, in 2002, the other type of S-five “
Major ATS” which has the dynamic design
and on-off road functions is newly developed.
In the category of “Business type
“ motorcycle, CITI ACE 110 by our
own technology is created.
In 2003, we developed fashion scooter 50cc
"CORDI" which is very convenient
for women and even Young peoples to ride
easily and comfortably.
In 2004, we developed and introduced the
new scooters "SQ125 and SQ250"
for the purpose of satisfying with customer'
new need and fashion. Especially, SQ250
is the high perormance and capacity fashion
scooter in Korean domestic market.
Currently, in 2005, we introduced a new
small scooter 50cc "A.FOUR" which
is new paradigm and Completely Balanced
in quality and style.
The international motorcycle scene has recently
undergone some significant changes. The
motorcycle import diversification system
has been cancelled, the global warming phenomenon
has led to stricter regulations concerning
emissions, and customers are demanding ever-safer
vehicles with improved reliability. Daelim
views these changes as challenges that need
to be met. We are prepared to commit our
total resources for a successful outcome.
During the decreased domestic demand of
the IMF situation, Daelim Motor pushed ahead
with the development of export-oriented
products. To achieve this lofty goal, we
improved our in-house technology and product
quality. Motorcycle warranty periods were
extended. Cost cutting measures were implemented
without any decrease in product quality.
With such objectives in mind, Daelim Motor
expanded CAE/CAT to computerize simulation
systems and analytical activities, and is
in the process of building an integrated
technical information management system.
Daelim Motor has intensified its research
atmosphere by revitalizing the research
specialist system. All R&D personnel
have joined forces to improve the manpower
resources of their department. Daelim management
realizes that R&D is one of the strategic
resources of a corporation and is necessary
for Daelim’s advancement to an acknowledged
leader in the world market.
